Red Raspberry is soothing for diarrhea. BlackBerry works as an astringent. Native Americans used blackberry root tea to cure dysentery. White Oak Bark also is an astringent and the Ojibwe scraped the root bark and inner bark and boiled them for a decoction for diarrhea. Marshmallow is a powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant which is useful for diarrhea and dysentery. Slippery Elm is used to treat gastrointestinal problems since it is an excellent demulcent and beneficial for diarrhea. The leaves and bark of Witch Hazel contain tannins known to have astringent and anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Ingredients: Black Berry Leaf, Raspberry Leaf, White Oak Bark, Marshmallow Root, Cinnamon Powder, Witch Hazel, and Slippery Elm Bark. HERBAL DECOCTION: Place 1 ¼ cup of water in pan with 1 ½ tsp. roots, heat slowly and simmer covered for 10-15 minutes. The longer you simmer the herbs, the stronger the tea will be. Strain into a cup and serve
