Common Name:  (Thymus vulgaris), A.K.A., Garden Thyme
Thyme was used by the ancient Greeks as a flavoring agent and for its medicinal value. The herb was considered a symbol of bravery during the middle Ages, when it was used to encourage strength for nervous conditions, and as an antispasmodic.
Thyme is a powerful antiseptic and general tonic with healing powers. It is used in cases of anemia, lung ailments, and gastrointestinal ailments. It is also used as an antiseptic against tooth decay. Thyme reported helps to dissolve and remove tumors, while relieving spasms and encouraging menstruation. Thyme destroys fungal infections such as athlete’s foot and skin parasites such as head lice. It has a long history of use as a folk remedy for bronchitis, catarrh, colic, diabetes, fever, rheumatism, sore throat, warts and whooping cough. It does contain antibacterial and antifungal properties. It also has shown to reduce nightmares in children. Suggested dosage 1-2 capsules per day preferably at night due to its calmative nature.
