withdrawal. Lobelia closely resembles nicotine but is milder. It is

a specific anti-smoking preparation due to the cross tolerance seen

between its major alkoloid and nicotine. It is one of the strongest

relaxants affecting the nervous system. It increases urine flow, perspiration, and reduces fevers. It is important to start with low

doses and increase over time.
