It can also be used for increasing the rate of respiration and produces a temporary reduction of blood pressure. In elderly, it is good for sciatica and general nerve debility. Scullcap calms the nervous system without narcotic properties, quiets the person and often brings about, natural sleep. Poppy Seeds may slow down neurotransmissions to the brain, not blocking them but slowing them down. Wood Betony is an excellent remedy for pain in the head, headaches, and facial twitching. Wood Betony is also calming to the nerves. Blue Vervain is a quieting herb that helps calm coughing and is a natural tranquilizer. Blue Vervain is a mild laxative, causes perspiration and has the over-all effect of inducing relaxation. Valerian root is a primary sedative used when sleep disorders are the result of anxiety, nervousness, exhaustion, headache or hysteria. “Nature’s tranquilizer,” Valerian, calms the nerves without the side effects of comparable synthetic drugs. The potent chemical extracted from jujubes, ‘jujuboside A,’ affects the hippocampus in the brain and is often used as a natural sleep aid. Jujubes can be used to treat both insomnia and anxiety.

  • Ingredients: Vanilla Rooibos, Cherry Rose Rooibos, Hibiscus, Spearmint, Chamomile, Oat Heads, Oat Straw, Passionflower, Skullcap, California Poppy, Wood Betony, Blue Vervain, Jujube Seed, and Valerian. HERBAL INFUSION: Bring water to a boil and turn off heat. Add 1 tsp. herb per 1 cup of water. Let sit covered for 10 minutes before straining. Always shake condensation from the lid covering back into the tea. Add honey or lemon to taste. Enjoy hot or iced.
