Comfrey has been used as a healing herb since 400 BC; known for its ability to encourage body tissue repair. Comfrey contains ‘allantoin’ a cell proliferant, that stimulates new cell growth and production, supporting more rapid healing. Comfrey has been used successfully on any part of the body that has been injured. Red Raspberry Leaf helps rebuild tissues. Nettles increase the flow of urine, shrink inflamed tissues, help blood circulation and purify the blood. White Oak Bark is the classic example of an astringent, due to its high calcium and tannins content it acts by precipitating tissue proteins to tighten them. Horsetail has large amounts of silica, this helps to strengthen fingernails, increase the flow of urine and helps hold calcium in the body plus increase circulation. It is known to have anti-biotic properties and contributes to the overall healing process. Oatstraw has a calming effect on the nerves and is a strong nutritive nervine for depression.
