Forsythia Pods (Lian Qiao) This herb is used to treat wind-heat fevers, sore throats, common colds, influenza, as well as on toxic sores, carbuncles, and swollen lymph nodes. Contraindications: Forsythia SHOULD NOT BE USED be used by those with weak and cold spleen/stomach conditions. It should not be used on sores that are already open or are caused by a yin deficiency. Dose: 3-12 grams
