Chrysanthemum Flower

Chrysanthemum (Ju Hua) clears heat, disperses wind, soothes the liver, and improves vision. It can be used for the common cold, fevers, headaches, conjunctivitis, reddening of the eyes, and some cases of deafness. This herb is excellent for fevers with headache and for counteracting the effects of a hot climate. While this is a surface-relieving herb, it also has some yin-nourishing properties. Contraindications: Those who are weak or have diarrhea should not use chrysanthemum flower. Dose: 5-12 grams
